I joined Brydens Lawyers as a law clerk in 2007. Following my admission I took on the role of junior solicitor within the Commercial division and later in the Family Law-Wills & Estates division. I have practiced exclusively in this area ever since and today I am honoured to say that I am the Practice Manager of the division for Brydens Lawyers. Practising in this area has allowed me to fulfil my aspirations of not only being a Solicitor but helping people in times of need. In the last 14 years I have seen too many instances of difficulty arise in family circumstances and also on the distribution of a deceased’s estate where there has not been proper legal advice and representation beforehand. In many respects my path to Brydens Lawyers was preordained with my father as Principal of the firm. I commenced employment with Brydens Lawyers as a law clerk and thereafter as a Solicitor upon my admission to the Supreme Court. I have worked within the common law and workers compensation divisions of the firm helping people claim compensation for injuries sustained in road and work accidents. Thereafter I transferred to the Family Law – Wills & Estates division. Practising in Family Law has proven to be both personally and professionally very rewarding. Having engaged in Scout Australia, it was ingrained into me that I should use my skills to assist those less fortunate than myself, and Plaintiff medical negligence work allows to me do both.

I joined Brydens Lawyers in 1988 following my graduation from the University of Sydney. I was placed by then partner, the late Ian Edward Bryden, into the Personal Injury Division of the firm to work with him. I was able to very quickly identify that Mr Bryden was a solicitor of exceptional talent and ability but more importantly, a solicitor of integrity and ethics. Mr Bryden became my mentor and I developed a genuine passion for personal injury and compensation claims. The pursuit of justice on behalf of those innocently injured persons was both professionally and personally very satisfying. In 1994, at the age of 29 years, Mr Bryden made me his Partner. In 2012 I assumed full ownership of Brydens Lawyers. I pride myself on the satisfaction of clients of the Conveyancing Division of Brydens Lawyers. While it sounds simple, the Conveyancing process can be complicated and no 2 sales or purchases or transfers are the same. Each Conveyance has a life of its own, with every property being different and the parties and personalities of those involved being different. I love the entire process, from providing a quote to potential clients, to drafting documents that best protect a Vendor client, reviewing documents and providing advice, securing amendments, liaising for a clients sale and providing them with sale proceeds or advising a client that they can collect the keys to their new home. I am passionate and actively involved in every aspect together with the team at Brydens Lawyers.
