About Lee Hagipantelis

Lee has practised law for more than 35 years, having joined Brydens Lawyers at the age of 23, straight from Sydney University and the College of Law. In the decades since, Lee has become a partner, overseen every division of the firm, and advocated on behalf of those in need of a guiding hand. The outcome of a claim matters greatly, yet it is the opportunity to give clients a voice that has defined Lee’s career.

As Principal and owner, and a Law Society of New South Wales Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law, Lee regards it as a duty to safeguard the standard of excellence this firm has built over more than 50 years. Lee has also been appointed an Arbitrator of the District Court of New South Wales, and for a number of years represented the legal profession on the Law Society’s Injuries Advisory Committee.

That duty extends well beyond any individual matter. It is reflected in the firm’s enduring commitment to the community it serves, and in the pathways it continues to offer the next generation of lawyers.

Q&A with Lee Hagipantelis

Why did you choose to work at Brydens Lawyers?

I commenced with Brydens Lawyers following my graduation from Sydney University and the College of Law. I was 23 years of age. In 1994, at the age of 29, I was made a partner. In 2012, I assumed ownership of Brydens Lawyers. Brydens Lawyers has been the entirety of my legal career. After more than 35 years of practice, I enjoy what I do today as much as I did when I first started. It is still professionally and personally rewarding to help people in their time of need, to seek justice on behalf of those who have been mistreated and to right wrongs. I look forward to continuing in my role for as long as I am able.

Professional background

Becoming a partner in 1994 was a highlight for me. Also, my Accreditation as a Specialist in Personal Injury Law in 1995 represented an acknowledgement by the NSW Law Society that I had achieved a particular level of proficiency in my chosen area of practice.

Assuming ownership of Brydens Lawyers in 2012 was also a highlight. It has put me in the fortunate position of being able to provide many young solicitors, law clerks and paralegals with the opportunity to fulfil their own dreams of practicing law, as I have done for many years. The firm's partnership with various charitable and community organisations has also been something of which I am very proud of. It is a manifestation of our corporate responsibility to give back to the community in which we have successfully operated for over 50 years.

I would also not be forgiven for not highlighting that my 3 daughters, Kyara, Andriana and Gabriella, work with me at Brydens Lawyers.

Outside of work

Outside work, I have been a lifelong supporter of the Balmain/West Tigers since 2000 and also enjoy golf and travel.
